[ONLINE] K-Waves: Exploring Korean Dance, Music, and Cultural Heritage

Jan 16, 2026 - Mar 6, 2026

About

Echoes of Korea is an 8-week immersive course that blends Korean dance and Korean music into one dynamic cultural experience. From elegant court dances and the haunting sounds of traditional instruments to energetic folk rhythms and modern K-pop choreography, students will explore how movement and sound together express Korea’s identity, emotion, and history. Through guided listening, movement training, video analysis, and creative projects, students will gain a deep appreciation of Korean aesthetics—정 (warmth), 흥 (vitality), 한 (resonant emotion)—and learn to interpret both music and dance as cultural language. The course ends with a creative performance video, where students choose a genre and express their own interpretation through choreography, music performance, or fusion creation. No prior dance or music experience required—just curiosity and enthusiasm. 8th grade and up (All adult are welcome) Registration deadline : Jan. 11
