About
Learn Korean Through K-Dramas 6-Week Spring Course Do you enjoy watching K-dramas and wish you could understand a little more of what the characters are saying? This 6-week course explores the Korean language through memorable scenes from popular dramas such as My Love from the Star (별에서 온 그대) Descendants of the Sun (태양의 후예) Goblin / Guardian: The Lonely and Great God (도깨비) In this class, K-dramas are not just entertainment. They are a powerful tool for learning language and culture. Together we will explore key dialogue from these dramas while learning useful vocabulary, everyday expressions, and cultural meanings that appear in the scenes. Through the stories and characters, you will also gain insight into Korean culture, emotions, and social relationships that often appear in Korean dramas. This class will not make you able to watch K-dramas completely without subtitles yet. However, it can be a meaningful first step. As you begin recognizing words, expressions, and cultural context, the experience of watching K-dramas will become much richer and more enjoyable. Rather than learning only from a traditional textbook, this course offers a different way to engage with Korean through stories, emotions, and real dialogue. Who can take this class • Students who have completed Elementary 4 or higher at KACCSA • Students who have studied Korean elsewhere and have at least an intermediate level Class schedule Thursdays 7:00 PM – 8:00 PM 6 weeks If you enjoy K-dramas and want to deepen your understanding of Korean language and culture, this class will be a fun and meaningful place to begin.
